Dear Friend and Colleague,
Career Visions is an event conceptualized and designed by Gargi
College as an extension service to undergraduate students, to
facilitate the transfer from college life on to Career paths.
The event consists of a Career Fair and a Career Guidance Seminar
to be held on 2nd & 3rd November 06. It is open to the entire
student fraternity of Delhi.
The growing interest in career oriented courses promoted heavily
by newly mushrooming private institutes has begun to pose challenge
to the merit of liberal education in humanities, sciences and
commerce as offered at the undergraduate level in central-state
universities. We wish to assure students that the job market
has expanded to provide space for graduates from all streams.
Our career seminar will be inaugurated by our eminent Vice
Chancellor, Prof. Deepak Pental, who will present a keynote
address on "The value and relevance of liberal education at
the undergraduate level" which we believe is still a strong
foundation for success in all careers.
For both generalists and aspiring specialists, the seminar will
provide valuable interface with top executives from key industries
as well as with veteran career counselors. Students can
get from "the horse's mouth" valuable information on career
opportunities, remuneration packages, required qualifications
and recruitment methodologies in various job sectors.
The career fair will provide a forum for peer interactions,
some pre-placement drives and will also comprise a food court.
I solicit your support to our event by giving it wide publicity
through effective display of our posters and programme brochure,
as well as through your personal encouragement to your students
to attend and benefit from our event.
