UPSTAGE!
: DRAMATICS SOCIETY
Our theatre group has yet again been among the top dramatics societies
of Delhi University. It has received several
prizes and media coverage, and also invitations to all the festivals
involving the best of collegiate theatre. This
years's production was based on an adaptation of Federico Garcia
Lorca's masterpiece, The House of Bernarda
Alba, and we were invited to perform at the Old World Theatre Festival
at India Habitat Centre. We also received
invitations to perform at the theatre festivals organised by the
students of National School of Drama as well as Kirori
Mal College.
KSHITIJ : STREET PLAY SOCIETY
A society which came into existence just three years back has a
lot to say about its achievements today. The Street
Play Society of Gargi College, 'Kshitij', has come a long way. We
are one of the most successful teams in Delhi
University, and the annual production, Aur Sab Kehte Hain Main Khush
Hoon, a play which talks about men (yes you
read it right!) was much talked about. The play also received media
publicity in India Today. Our first performance
was at BITS Pilani where we won the first prize which set the ball
rolling for our successful string of performances in
the following eight inter-college competitions.
EUPHONY : THE WESTERN MUSIC SOCIETY

SPARX
: CHOREOGRAPHY SOCIETY
The theme for our production this year was based on the novel
Veronica Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho. It focused on the
dilemma in a person's mind about what is right and what is not;
hence the theme 'Vidambana'. Our first performance
was an outstanding one at BITS Pilani, and we were winners at
Spinz, LSR, Miranda House, Hindu, HT Youth
Nexus, Gargi to name a few. We were offered musicals by judges
at various colleges. Aditi Zalpuri was offered the
lead in the musical to be produced in London. |
