Why
you should opt for English (Hons.)
If you are a student with a bent of mind for literature combined
with a sound knowledge of the English language then
this is the ideal course for you. This academically rigorous
course offers you a chance to strengthen your intellectual
ability, and aims at promoting independent thinking. The course
includes works of great poets, dramatists, novelists
and critical theorists from the classical period to post-modern
times. You can opt for higher academics like M.A., M.
Phil, PhD after graduating with English honours. The other
career prospects would include Mass Communication,
Publishing, Translation, Public Relations, HR, etc.
A student will have to clear the Admission test - Entrance
Test followed by Interview - in order to get admission into
BA
(Hons) English.

The Cut-off percentage for appearing in the Entrance test
is as follows:
Aggregate (Best of Four including English)

Test
16th June
2006 Session I (12.00 PM - 1.00 pm) and Session II (2.00 pm
- 3.00 pm). For details, see Notice Board.
Students will be required to register for any one session
(subject to vacancies) upon production of the following
documents :
- Common Pre-Admission Form receipt
- One
stamp sized photograph
- Statement
of Marks for Class XII
- Statement
of Marks / Certificate of Passing Class X as proof
of age.

Registration
will be open on 14th and 15th June 2006 from 9.30 am to 1.00
pm and on 16th June 2006 from 9.30 am to 11.00 am. A registration
fee of Rs. 50/- will be charged.
Following the Entrance Test, candidates will be shortlisted
for an interview. The list will be put up on the College Notice
Board. The weightage on the basis of which admission will be
granted is as follows :
Entrance Test Marks 50%
Interview 15%
Class XII/Qualifying Examination 35% of aggregate (Best of Four,
including English)
