How to Apply

  • Gargi College code and course code should have been entered in the Common Pre-Admission Form of Delhi
    University and submitted before the last date (15th June 2006).
  • If you are eligible for admission to Gargi College as per the college criteria, then you may fill the college admission
    form on prescribed days of admission. A photocopy of the Common Pre-Admission Form must be submitted
    along with the college form. The perforated slip showing the serial number of this prospectus has to be submitted
    with the form.
  • Your name in the application form should be the same as in your birth certificate.
  • Indicate your preference for the medium of instruction where applicable.
  • If you belong to any of the following categories (a) SC/ST or (b) Children/Widows of the officers and men of the
    Armed Forces killed or disabled inaction or on duty, please refer to Information Bulletin of the University of Delhi.
    An eligibility certificate issued by the University is required to be submitted along with the application form.
  • Overseas students who wish to apply to Gargi College are advised to get in touch with: The Foreign Students
    Registry, C/o faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi -110 007.

    If you are applying for M.A./M.Sc.Course, you must in addition register yourself with the Dean of the Faculty
    concerned at the South Delhi Campus.

    The college will display minimum cut-off percentages of class XII aggregate marks for each course on days
    prescribed by the University.


    Admission to Science Courses:

    Aggregate will include only science subjects. Please see relevant pages for details.

    Admission to courses in Humanities and Commerce:

    Aggregate will be based on Best Four subjects, which will include one language plus three electives. For admission to
    any course, the eligible cut-offs will vary for different streams taken in class XII (viz. Arts, Commerce and Science). For some courses there will be an additional prerequisite of minimum cut-off in the subject of specialisation.
Negative Weightage for certain subjects of class XII

  • Out of the Best Four subjects, only one of the following from the academic stream listed in page 5 of the
    Information Bulletin of the University of Delhi, may be included:
    Engineering Drawing, Home Science, Fine Arts, Agriculture, Physical Education, Music, Dance.

  • Where one of these is part of the Best Four, there will be a negative weightage, that is, a deduction of 4% will
    be made from the aggregate for purpose of eligibility.

  • No subject from the Vocational Stream will be considered for inclusion in the Best Four for the following
    courses : Honours in Humanities Subjects and B.Com Honours

  • B.A.(Prog) : In Best Four only one of the above mentioned subjects OR only one subject from the
    Vocational Stream may be included. Both will be accorded negative weightage of 4% in the aggregate.
    Please note that seats in certain discipline options are limited and will be offered on first come first served
    basis. Mathematics of class XII is a prerequisite for the following discipline options : Economics,
    Operational Research and Mathematics. It however need not be part Best Four.

  • B.Com (Hons) : Mathematics in class XII is a prerequisite, though it may not be part of Best Four. For
    Commerce stream only the following subjects may be included in Best Four: Economics, Mathematics,
    Accountancy, Business Studies, Computer Science, Informatics Practices. In all other cases, including
    other streams, cut offs will be higher for eligibility.

  • B.Com : Only one of the negative weightage subjects OR only one subject in the “Commerce based Group”
    of the Vocational Stream will be included in Best Four. Cut offs will be higher for students of Science and
    Humanities streams of class XII.
