KINKINI : THE INDIAN DANCE SOCIETY

Indian Dance Society has won various prizes through the course of the last year. It has won us a lot of prizes and accolades in the past year. We won the first prize in group performances at Dyal Singh College and at the Institute of Home Economics.

Q.E.D. : THE DEBATING SOCIETY

The most significant milestone of the year was the annual
college festival, Reverie '05, wherein for the first time ever, we
hosted a parliamentary debating event, which saw excellent
participation from colleges all over the university. Our regular
wins have been in the categories of 'Best Speaker' and 'Best
Interjector' in debates, paper presentations and declamations as
well.

HINDI DEBATING SOCIETY

We have an established and successful Hindi Debating Society who have won laurels for our college all over DU.
Students participated in a number of events such as debates, extempores, parliamentary debates and speak-outs.

Glass I : THE FILM SOCIETY

We mostly pick films from mainstream cinema (for your entertainment!), but analyse them critically. We began with
Rituparno Ghosh's Chokher Bali, based on Rabindranath Tagore's classic novel. Following the same thread, we
screened Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Parineeta next, which is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel by the same
name. Breaking from this chain of novels adapted into films, on popular demand, Glass I screened Jane Campion's
The Piano, a film that showcases intense and complex human emotions that allowed for a discussion on one of the
most controversial topics - voyeurism in cinema.

HUES : THE FINE ARTS SOCIETY

The second year of Hues was exciting. One of the highlights this year was the Oil Painting Workshop conducted in
Gargi by the world renowned painter, Prof. Jagdish Dey (Ex-faculty of Delhi College of Art). 'Hues' celebrated the 'Fine
Arts Day' for the first time in college this September. Competitions like cartoon making and card making were held for
the entire college.
